If we had imagined a more perfect and relaxing place than this, I don’t think we could have done it! I have to admit that I have toured many b&b’s in this area of Puglia, but this one without a doubt has something magical! A place that can make you feel in paradise, away from the world and yet at total peace with it! The location is beautiful, we slept in a part of the cottage consisting of a living room with kitchenette (beautiful and complete with everything useful) bathroom in perfect harmony with the architecture of the trullo and a large bedroom. Each house has a corner of the garden with table, chairs and deck chairs. The communal pool is wonderful and from the photos (as beautiful as they are) you can’t perceive the tranquility, the only noise was that of cicadas and crickets. The thing I like most about this place is the fact that it does not have many beds (I think 12 in total) so even in August it must be livable and maintain that serene atmosphere that we found. I left for last my opinion about the hospitality because this is what makes the difference, Antonella the owner is a wonderful person, kind and helpful without ever being intrusive. She greeted us on arrival by making us find in the fridge jams made by her, milk eggs and everything you need for breakfast, she made us find the oil produced from their olive trees and fresh fruit including figs from the garden. Every morning we would find fresh bread and a homemade cake or cookies on the table in the garden, plus as if that weren’t enough she told us not to make problems and take tomatoes, squash blossoms and basil from the garden. In short for a week we felt right at home and can’t wait to get back. I couldn’t find anything negative, despite being very critical, and I’m sure anyone here can find a little piece of heaven!

The right term to define the location is Earthly Paradise, either for the nature that surrounds it, or for the surrounding silence broken only by the sound of water, who is looking for relaxation, cleanliness and lots of nature is at Trullo dei Messapi that must go. Antonella is a true hostess who knows how to combine courtesy, friendliness and sympathy with her excellent jams and cakes. In short, if this is the Paradise we want to go back soon!

Posto davvero stupendo! Quando siamo arrivati abbiamo trovato tutto ciò che serve per iniziare un’ottima vacanza all’insegna del riposo e della comodità: la nostra abitazione, composta da saloncino con angolo cottura super attrezzato, camera da letto spaziosa e bagno con doccia, si affacciava su un terrazzino di pertinenza, anch’esso attrezzato con tavolo e sedie sotto un grande ombrellone, immerso nel verde di alberi da frutto ed erbe aromatiche. Tutte le dimore affacciano su una bella piscina patio, lettini, doccia e ombrelloni. La giovane proprietaria del relais ci ha accolto con molta cordialità illustrandoci il posto, i servizi offerti e mettendosi a nostra disposizione per qualunque esigenza (indicazioni turistiche, suggerimenti enogastronomici, prenotazioni ecc…). Abbiamo inoltre piacevolmente trovato la cucina fornita di tutto ciò che si può desiderare per preparare un’abbondante colazione intercontinentale (uova, prosciutto, pane, fette biscottate, burro, marmellate e crostata fatte in casa dalla proprietaria, latte, frutta fresca raccolta in giardino…) Insomma tutto ciò che serve per la tua vacanza si trova dentro questo piccolo e accogliente relais, anche se tutta la valle d’Itria merita una visita e anche il punto più lontano dista non più di mezz’ora in auto.

Sono appena tornato a casa da un meraviglioso soggiorno nella guest house di Antonella. Abbiamo avuto il Trullo, che aveva tutti i comfort di cui avevamo bisogno ed era bello dentro e fuori. La proprietà è situata in campagna un paio di miglia al di fuori della città di Ceglie Messapica e centrale per visitare i luoghi di interesse, anche se una macchina è d’obbligo. Antonella, una hostess cordiale e calorosa, ci ha portato ogni giorno pane fresco e ci ha dato altre cose come torte fatte in casa, conserve, frutta ecc. E niente era troppo disturbo per lei. Siamo stati in grado di godere di una tanto necessaria settimana di riposo e relax, godendoci la piscina tremendamente!

I highly recommend Il Trullo dei Messapi! The location is about 5 minutes from the center of the town of Ceglie among the olive groves and trulli. Antonella was a sweet and kind hostess and delivered us fresh and delicious bread and cakes every morning and stocked the fridge with eggs, yogurt, milk, juice, etc.. We stayed in an apartment, which is spacious, very clean, and has a super comfortable bed. We also cooked our own dinner one night in the in-room kitchen and bought all our ingredients at the farmer’s market in Ceglie (weekly on Saturday’s). The pool is quiet and serene and the gardens are well maintained with trees, flowers, and stone. We loved everything about it!
